With reference to Lord Creve's
Despatch No. 182 of the 30th. June, 1910, I have the
honour to state that as a result of the recent discussion
which I had with Mr. Stubbs I propose that a non-pension-
-able allowance of £50 per annum should be paid to the
Officer actually performing the duties of Clerk of
Councils.
2.
This allowance will in a measure
compensate the Assistant Colonial Secretary for not being
allowed in ordinary circumstances to act in higher appoint-
-ments.
